EVENT #1 GERMANY INVADES
EVENT #1 GERMANY INVADES POLAND Despite Hitler promising not to acquire more territory after the Munich Conference in 1938, Hitler invaded Poland on September1, 1939, a week after the Nazi-Soviet Pact. Two days later, Britain and France declared war on Germany. World War II had begun.

EVENT #2. GERMANY LAUNCHES THE
EVENT #2 GERMANY LAUNCHES THE BLITZ Germany began bombing the people of England in September The German Luftwaffe continuously bombed the city of London for 57 days and nights. This bombing, known as the “Blitz” was Hitler’s attempt to weaken England before he would invade the island nation. Much of the city was destroyed and thousands died but the English never gave in to and continued to go about their daily lives. In the end the Nazi’s could not gain an advantage in the skies over England and Hitler’s plan to invade England had failed.

EVENT # THE ATLANTIC CHARTER IN APRIL 1941 PRESIDENT ROOSEVELT AND BRITISH PRIME MINISTER WINSTON CHURCHILL MET TO DISCUSS THE ALLIED PLAN TO DEFEAT THE NAZIS AND SET GOALS FOR THE WORLD AFTER WORLD WAR II. THE TWO GOVERNMENTS PLEDGED TO SUPPORT “THE RIGHT OF ALL PEOPLES TO CHOOSE THE FORM OF GOVERNMENT UNDER WHICH THEY WILL LIVE”. THE MEETING WAS A DECISIVE EVENT IN WORLD WAR II AS THE UNITED STATES TOOK THE LEAD IN THE WAR EFFORT AGAINST THE NATIONS OF THE TRIPLE ALLIANCE,GERMANY, ITALY AND THE EMPIRE OF JAPAN.

EVENT # 4 FRANCE FALLS TO HITLER ON JUNE 20TH 1940 THE NAZIS TOOK CONTROL OF THE CITY OF PARIS. THE FRENCH WERE FORCED TO SIGN A HUMILIATING SURRENDER IN THE SAME PLACE THE GERMANS SURRENDERED IN WORLD WAR I. IN JUST SIX WEEKS HITLER AND THE NAZIS HAD GAINED CONTROL OF MUCH OF WESTERN EUROPE AND ONLY ENGLAND STOOD ALONE IN DEFIANCE OF HITLER.

EVENT # HITLER INVADES RUSSIA BREAKING HIS PROMISE TO STALIN, HITLER INVADED THE SOVIET UNION IN JUNE MILLION GERMAN SOLDIERS INVADED AND PUSHED DEEP INTO RUSSIA. THE RUSSIANS LOST 2 AND A HALF MILLION SOLDIERS. THE NAZIS WOULD STALL IN THE RUSSIAN WINTER AND THIS WOULD BE HITLERS COSTLIEST MISTAKE OF THE WAR AS HE LOST HALF HIS ARMY AND GAVE BRITAIN AND THE UNITED STATES TIME TO PREPARE FOR WAR IN WESTERN EUROPE

EVENT # 6. HITLER’S GENOCIDE OF THE JEWS
EVENT # HITLER’S GENOCIDE OF THE JEWS BY 1941 HITLER HAD DEVISED HIS “FINAL SOLUTION”. HITLER HAD SIX SPECIAL “DEATH CAMPS” CREATED TO MAXIMIZE THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE TO BE EXTERMINATED. BY POLISH JEWS WERE BEING SENT TO CONCENTRATION CAMPS EVERY DAY. BY WARS END THE NAZIS HAD KILLED SIX MILLION “UNDESIRABLES” MAINLY, JEWS, GYPSIES, AND HOMOSEXUALS.

EVENT #7. ALLIED VICTORY IN NORTH AFRICA AMERICAN GENERAL DWIGHT D
EVENT # ALLIED VICTORY IN NORTH AFRICA AMERICAN GENERAL DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER LED ALLIED FORCES IN THE FIRST VICTORIES AGAINST NAZI GERMANY IN NORTH AFRICA. THE GERMAN’S LEGENDARY GENERAL HERMAN ROMMEL SURRENDERED HIS ARMY IN MAY THIS WAS A TURNING POINT IN THE WAR AS THE ALLIES COULD USE AFRICA AS A STAGING GROUND FOR THEIR INVASION OF NAZI OCCUPIED EUROPE.

EVENT #8 GERMAN DEFEAT AT STALINGRAD IN 1942 HITLER LAUNCHED A MAJOR OFFENSIVE TO TAKE THE RUSSIAN CITY OF STALINGRAD. IT PROVED TO BE HITLERS BIGGEST MISTAKE AS THE RUSSIANS BRAVELY FOUGH TO DEFEND THE CITY. THE RUSSIAN WINTER TOOK ITS TOLL AS THE NAZI ARMY AS IT LOST THE COSTLY BATTLE AND THE RUSSIANS BEGAN PUSHING BACK INTO GERMANY SEALING HITLERS FATE IN THE EAST.
