1. Why should we display our data in graphs and Tables?
Graphs and tables help to display data clearly and effectively.
Graphs and tables allow people to explain patterns in their data, with the help of visual aids.
Giving people the opportunity to SEE data, not only read it, help others to better understand the meaning of the investigation as well as the results that were obtained.

2. Variables
Independent Variable– the variable that you control or change
Graphed on x-axis
Dependent Variable – value depends on what happens
Graphed on y-axis
Axes
x-axis – horizontal line of reference located at bottom of graph
Independent variable
y-axis – vertical line of reference located at far left of graph

3. Scales Always use even increments
Count by 2’s, 5’s, 10’s, etc…
Take up as much of the graph space as possible
X and Y scales do not have to be the same
