7 Understand How You Get Paid: Melaleuca’s Income Streams
Commissions are your Residual Income Advancement Bonuses Leadership Pool Car Bonus There are at least 15 different income streams for Melaleuca’s marketing executives. In order to simplify them we categorized them into these 4 categories. We are paid in a way that’s comparable to how other solid corporations pay their marketing executives. In order to know how to maximize your income you need to understand how you get paid so that you can focus your attention on the right activities. Commission on the products that our customers purchase (sales) 2. Bonuses when we advance and when our leaders advance. And bonuses when we achieve special goals based on company promotions. 3. Our leadership pool is the company’s profit-sharing plan. Most companies distribute profit sharing annually but we’re lucky- we’re paid monthly. Melaleuca puts 1% of all of the product points in the pools for Directors 2 through Sr. Directors 5 and 2% of the company’s product points in the pools for Executive and Corporate Directors. 4. Car Bonuses are paid to our Sr. Directors and above. Like the sales and marketing positions of other legitimate, solid corporations we are NOT paid on our own purchases. So, let’s start at the top and look closely at each of these categories. Look at the pages titled Melaleuca’s Income Streams. Commissions: Product intro and org commissions. Once you’ve achieved the 20/20 club you get 20% commissions on all of your personals and always 7% on the customers that others enroll - they can come from someone in your business that enrolls customers or from customers put in your business by a member of your support team. These purchases determine your org volume. Even though you’re only paid on purchases up to 150 pts, all points purchased count towards volume. ** COI and ECOI: paid when customers remain active for 3 consecutive months- $25 less for every one who cancels. *** Value Pack and Career Pack bonuses. Customers who purchase one of these will be happier customers and on average, they will order about 30% more than those who don’t. Critical for business builders because it qualifies them for Pacesetter. **** Director Advancement bonus: $100; $200 if a Pacesetter director. This is paid immediately. All other advancement bonuses are paid when you remain in the new status for 3 consecutive months. ****Pacesetter Enroller Bonus: $100 when one of your directors becomes a pacesetter director- you have to have purchase a VP or CP and must be a director or above. *****Advancement Bonuses:When you advance to a higher status. They are doubled when you advance on Pacesetter. These bonuses are paid when you maintain your status for 3 consecutive months or advances to another level. ******Director Development Bonus: When you’re a director or above and you develop a new director your bonus is $100 X the number of personal directors you have. This policy changed in Nov and if you were here then the number of director you had at that time determined your benchmark. Every time you develop a new director your benchmark increases by 1. Here’s an example of how it works: you currently have 3 active directors and you develop another 1. That makes 4. Your director dev bonus will be $400 and it is paid immediately. For pacesetter directors you get an xtra $10o. Your new benchmark is 4. Next month you develop another director but one fo your directors loses their status. Now you still have 4 active directors and since your benchmark is 4 you have not earned an additional director development bonus. You will however, earn the pacesetter director if they’re a pacesetter. If you develop more than 1 new director in the same month you are paid for one director each month until all you have been paid for all of your directors. Your benchmark increases by 1 each month and it never decreases. ****** Leadership Mentoring Bonus: When your leaders advance beyond director. This bonus is doubled when they achieve the new status on pacesetter and is paid out if you are at the same level or above and when they maintain their status for 3 consecutive months or advance. *******Leadership Pool: The profit sharing pool is distributed to D Iis and above based on a formula that recognizes 3 things:your net customer growth and your leadership point average for the last 3 months and your status. We’re rewarded for growing our business and increasing the number of customers, for providing support to our team (leadership points) and for achieving and maintaining higher statuses. For ex: part of the formula is an active status factor. Rebecca’s (as a corp director) is 5; mine as an Exec 4 is 2.75 and someone who is a Director II is 1.2. I’m going to cover the importance of these pools a little later. ********Leadership Growth Bonus: These bonuses are for senior directors and above- they reward us for growth in the number of preferred customers. Melaleuca uses the rolling 3 month average for the past 3 months. Seniors- senior 5= $500. Execs= $1,000 and $100 is added to every level. Corporate= $2,000. *********and finally, the Car Allowance= $400 for seniors and $1,000 for execs and corps.
