2 Narrative Prompt Guidelines
Use first person language- “I” Language Show not tell….describe in detail to explain your topic sentence Cite evidence from the text to support your topic sentence Use your imagination- write the story as if you are seeing through his eyes- a day in the life perspective Follow the narrative prompt graphic organizer outline Your narrative prompt must have a clear beginning, middle, and end

3 Narrative Prompt #1 Write a narrative about Siddhartha’s process of becoming a Buddha. In your story, include one or two experiences that may have helped to shape his moral teachings. Be sure to include details from the text and a clear beginning, middle, and ending to your story. Keep in mind: Buddhism is more than 2,500 years old. During these two and a half millennia, there have been billions of Buddhists. Currently, 360 million people practice Buddhism.

4 Narrative Prompt #2 Write a narrative that shows how Siddhartha Gautama left a life of luxury to become a penniless wanderer in search of truth. In your story, show some of the struggles he went through as he chose to become Buddha.   Keep in mind: The king supplied his son with everything he needed and wanted. Siddhartha would have become King; he gave that up and left his wife an baby son behind.
