Was the Man Entirely Wrong? He was expressing his belief that Jesus would not have been able to heal him if Jesus had not truly been a man of God! A sinner in full and direct rebellion to God should not expect God to listen to his requests and answer YES!

God Will Not Be Supportive of Those Who Live in Sin

1 Peter 3:10-12 Let him who means to love life and see good days refrain his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking guile. And let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and His ears attend to their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.

God Will Not Be Supportive of Those Who Live in Sin Isaiah 59:1-2 Behold, the Lords hand is not so short that it cannot save; neither is His ear so dull that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He does not hear.

God Will Not Be Supportive of Those Who Live in Sin James 4:3-4 You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures. You adulterous people, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

We need to be more concerned with what God wants in our lives than in what we might selfishly want…

We need to pray: Not my will, but Thy will be done.

We need to be more concerned with what God wants in our lives than in what we might selfishly want… We need to pray: Not my will, but Thy will be done. Prayer is surrendersurrender to the will of God and cooperation with that will. If I throw out a hook from the boat and catch hold of the shore and pull, do I pull the shore to me, or do I pull myself to the shore? Prayer is not pulling God to my will, but the aligning of my will to the will of God.
