1 Life on the Edge Interpretive Trail at the Grassle Marsh
The Jacques Cousteau National Estuarine Research Reserve (JC NERR) has constructed an interpretive and educational trail on existing JC NERR property - the adjacent Grassle Marsh. The ‘Life on the Edge’ trail is open to the public and will support teacher professional development, coastal decision-maker training, and family and public programs. The trail is an outdoor complement to the Life on the Edge exhibit located at the Tuckerton Seaport. Going forward, future work on the trail will focus on creating interpretive signage to describe living resources and discuss the importance of the different marsh habitats. A raised boardwalk walkway over wetland areas out to an observation deck, is slated to be built, as well as benches and a welcome kiosk at the trailhead. 130 Great Bay Blvd, Tuckerton, NJ 08087

2 The marsh is named after Judy & Fred Grassle – two eminent Rutgers marine scientists
