6 Which Aircraft shall equip?
A/C operating IFR/GAT in the EU data link Airspace (FL>285)‏ All aircraft flying the EU data link airspace unless exempted under following conditions

7 Automatic Exemptions – Article 3
a/c with individual airworthiness certificate before 01/01/2014 and equipped with FANS ED-100, ED-100A certified data link equipment a/c which are at least 20 years old and planned for cease of operations before December 2017 a/c flying for testing, delivery and maintenance purposes State a/c but those entering into service after 1 January 2014 should comply with the rule if equipped with non-military data-link

8 DLS-IR Exemptions Under Article 14 Application to EU Needed
Aircraft types reaching the end of their production life and being produced in limited numbers Aircraft types for which re-engineering costs required would be disproportionate due to old design Case must be Made by Applicants Can be Permanent or Temporary for Forward Fit Applications for Temporary Exemptions before Nov 17th 2010, otherwise it will not be possible for the Commission to form an opinion in due time before the Forward Fit date itself i.e. Jan 2011.

14 Incentives Status 3 Calls for Tender launched January, June & August
From 1st call 19 Airlines will be contracted From 2nd & 3rd call evaluation in progress But numbers much lower than in 1st call More than 700 aircraft to be equipped, But not all the Grant money will be used
