6 How does SNAP work?

7 The EBT Card SNAP dollars will be automatically deposited to a benefit account that you can access using an Electronic Benefits Card (EBT Card).

8 Just like a debit card The EBT card makes it easy to use SNAP dollars to buy groceries. It works just like a debit card and you can use it at most grocery stores and participating farmers’ markets. When you’re ready to pay for your food: Swipe the card at the same terminal you would swipe a credit or debit card. Choose EBT as your payment method (instead of debit or credit). Using your EBT card is that easy.

12 Medical bills may be a deduction.
If you receive SSD/SSI for a disability or you are over 60, most medical bills can be a deduction in your SNAP budget.

The cost for feeding and caring for a service dog can be a medical deduction in your SNAP budget. Food for service animals.

14 Budget rules help people with disabilities qualify.
For people with permanent disabilities that receive SSD/SSI, there are certain budget rules that may help them qualify. Budget rules help people with disabilities qualify.

NOEP stands for the Nutrition Outreach Education Program. I’m a NOEP Coordinator and my job is to help you find out if you may be eligible to participate in SNAP. I will work with you through the entire application process to ensure you get the maximum benefit you are entitled to receive.

I can work with you to fill out the application correctly and send it in to the DSS/HRA

18 Gathering paperwork I can help you gather all the paperwork you might need to apply for SNAP.

19 Home visits If getting to the office is ever an issue, I can visit you at home to help with the application process.

20 If you are approved, we will work together to make sure you are getting the maximum benefit you are entitled to.

21 NOEP Works for You We’ll work together from beginning to end and I’ll be there for you as your NOEP Coordinator as your partner, guide, and advocate.
