How Long/Who Won As part of the ally effort to invade japan, Troops storm the island of Okinawa on April, 1, 1945. From a U.S Army Veteran who was involved in the battle of Okinawa he says “When we landed, we encountered no resistance, so we immediately went to the airfield, when we went to the airfield we saw destroyed aircrafts and bombs, the Base Was Completely destroyed, At The End Of The Second Day That Was When Our Troubles Began. It Turns Out Okinawa Was The Bloodiest Battle Of The War. The Battle Was Nicknamed The Typhoon Of Steel. Another Man Said "The advance was not by miles, but by inches a day. A Sargent from the battle said” That none of his men left the battle without being injured”. June, 21, 1945 Okinawa falls after 52 days of strong fighting.
