2 What is Title IV? Every Student Succeeds Act established Title IV, Part A, Student Support and Academic Enrichment (Title IV) program as one of the provisions to support students’ successes. This program is intended to help meet these goals by increasing the capacity of State educational agencies, local educational agencies, schools and local communities to: 1) provide all students with access to a well-rounded education 2) improve school conditions for student learning 3) improve the use of technology in order to improve the academic achievement and digital literacy of all students (ESSA section 4101)

3 Budget Relationship for Grants over $30,000
The grant funds must support the following criteria: At least 20% for well-rounded education to include programs such as college and career counseling, STEM, arts, civics, and International Baccalaureate/Advanced Placement At least 20% for safe and healthy students to include comprehensive school mental health, drug and violence prevention, training on trauma-in-formed practices, and health and physical education A portion to support effective use of technology that is backed by professional development, blended learning and ed tech devices

4 Huntsville City Schools’ System Plan
Huntsville City Schools will improve social, emotional and academic outcomes for students by equipping teachers with responses to misbehavior within the classroom. This will be achieved by implementing Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS) Phase II to support progressive discipline procedures. Huntsville City Schools will accelerate learning opportunities and improve instructional processes through the implementation of an educational software Learning Management System (LMS). Huntsville City Schools will utilize The Winning Foundation to aid in enhancing the probability of students completing their education and thus decreasing the probability of being sent to an alternative school or discontinuing their education to pursue vices that will make them a societal liability instead of an asset.

5 Huntsville City Schools’ System Plan
Huntsville City Schools will provide well rounded education through: Using USA Test Prep subscriptions to emphasize preparation for college and career readiness, Improved healthy and active lifestyle, through instruction and conditioning weight training to increase students’ cognitive ability, Freshman Bridging, Camp Pride, and various summer academic camps to provide opportunities for incoming 9th grade students to increase access to AP subjects for underrepresented groups, Access to advanced placement courses to include: Forensics, AP Biology, AP Human Geography, English Honors, and Summer Reading Materials, Formal International Baccalaureate (IB) training and IB instructional supplies for experiments/projects to support the IB curriculum through collaboration, School Resource Officers (SRO) Summer Camp for elementary students.
