The safest choice in pregnancy is no alcohol at all. In fact, it is best to stop drinking before you get pregnant.

3 $26 Million over 4 Years MCYS leading through MPP Sophie Kiwala

4 Six Initiatives One-stop web access to info/training resources

5 Workers aligned with Coordinating Agencies
FASD Workers 34 Service Delivery Areas Workers aligned with Coordinating Agencies FASD Workers aligned with Coordinating Agencies In the first phase, beginning in January 2018, MCYS will allocate funding for 1 FTE FASD worker to each of the Coordinating Agencies in each of the 34 special needs service delivery areas. Additional workers (up to 16 additional in for a total of 50 workers) will be allocated through a separate process in the second phase of implementation. Through this phase MCYS will allocate FASD workers to high-need areas. The allocation approach for this phase is under development.

6 FASD Workers – Key Principles
Workers will be allocated across Ontario. Serving children and youth 0-18 (18-21 who are still in school) Formal diagnosis not required. Not all will receive Coordinated Service Planning Workers will be allocated across Ontario. Will provide service to children and youth up to the age of 18, including Indigenous children and youth, and young people between the ages of 18 and 21 who remain in school They will provide direct service to children, youth and families with FASD, including consultation and system navigation support, as required. Formal diagnosis of FASD will not be required to access the services and support. Not everyone served by FASD workers will receive Coordinated Service Planning.
