1 After Jesus was Baptized, He was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the Devil. And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, He was hungry.

2 The satan said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”
But Jesus answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouoth of God’”. So Jesus doesn't care about our daily needs ? What did he do with the multitude when they were hungry? He fed everyone – not just his disciples, he fed everyone who followed him.

3 Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If you are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: ‘He shall give His angels charge over you.’… Jesus said to him, “It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’”

4 Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.”

5 Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan
Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your god, and Him only you shall serve.” Then the devil left Him…

6 And behold angels came and ministered to Him.
As we just learnt, Satan even tried to trick Jesus, but what did he do? Jesus answered him with Scripture/Bible. So make sure you read the Bible because it will give you what to say and how to pray when you read the Bible. Do you know how to play the game “Simon Says”? If Simon says to do something, you do it, but if Simon doesn't say to do it, you don't do it. Let’s play this game. Simon says, "Raise your hand." Simon says, "Raise your other hand." "Okay, put your hands down." Uh-oh! I caught some of you on that one, didn't I?  I did not say “Simon says, "Put your hands down."  Let's try again. Simon says, "Put your hands down." Simon says, "Clap your hands." Simon says, "Touch your nose." Pull your ear! Good! I didn't trick you that time. You are catching on to the game now. Just like the game of Simon Says, in real life we should be doing what God tells us to do. Where do you find God’s word? Yes, in the Bible. Now, what happens in real life is that the devil tries to trick you, so that you do what he wants you to do rather than what God want us to do. Fasting and Prayers can help us. When the disciples could not cast out the demon from a man and Jesus was able to cast out the demon in Matthew 17, Jesus told disciples “This kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting”. But the devil will try to tell your mind and tell you “It’s O.K., you don’t have to fast. That’s what the adults do. You don’t have to pray tonight, you just went to church today”. Why do you think the devil tells us not to fast & pray? Because he knows that we get closer to Jesus when we listen to Jesus. When we hear the word of God and obey what God tells us to do, we will get our heavenly rewards from God. What other things does the Bible tell us? Do not steal, do not lie, and many more. Jesus said in the Bible “Love your enemies”. But when someone does something to hurt you, the devil will say, "Hurt them back because he/she hurt you." We have another story to learn today. Actually you have learnt this few months ago when we had the confession lesson by Rami. But we will learn another lesson today using this story. It’s also a good review.
