1 Konawaena Middle School Data
SY *from alohahsap.org as of August 1, 2016

2 Purpose Preview of preliminary data
Anchor points for possible instructional planning Reflect/List questions Looking first at data that is a part of the state’s STRIVE HI system. Data comes from alohahsap.org – state’s “clearinghouse” for school data. It includes results for students enrolled in a school who took the test. STRIVE HI will take this data and filter out the results for students who were enrolled a full school “calendar” year. Schools are held accountable for students enrolled a full year = not students who were here couple of months etc. This means what you see today may be somewhat different than the official STRIVE HI results later; however, the results are generally not drastically different. This just keeps you in the loop and provide anchor points for possible instructional planning. The data may point to areas you want to target as a teacher or PLC, questions you want to ask or things you want to reinforce. You will have time periodically to reflect on the information you are receiving and talk with your peers. If we don’t get to all of your questions today – my contact info is at the end of the presentation. Send me your questions, and I will follow-up with you as soon as I can.

3 What data is currently available?
Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA) data New state assessment aligned to Common Core State Standards Literacy and Math Overall proficiency rate/comparisons Progress over time *There is more specific strand and target data – PLC time 1st set of data that is a part of the STRIVE HI system.

16 What data is currently available?
SCIENCE Hawaii State Assessment (HSA) – 8th Grade Aligned to Hawaii Content Performance Standards for Science (HCPS III) STRIVE HI also looks at data from science. These assessments are – Biology I at the high school level and the HSA at grades 8 and 4.

20 EOC Data

21 Algebra I: Proficiency Comparisons

22 Algebra I: Reporting Categories

23 Algebra I Benchmark Data
Benchmark reports are available for EOC assessments. They provide a look at how students did on different benchmarks. The data will provide a comparison of progress with each benchmark as related to the test as a whole.

24 Algebra I Algebraic Concepts & Procedures Modeling & Problem Solving
Benchmark Strengths + Weaknesses - Algebraic Concepts & Procedures Solving quadratic equations… Solve systems of linear equations Explain why the x-coordinates... Use function notations, evaluate functions for inputs, interpret statements that use function notation Calculate and interpret avg. rate of change of function Choose/produce equivalent form of expression to reveal and explain properties Explain each step in solving a simple equation Solve linear and inequalities/1 variable Graph solutions to linear equations Compare properties of two functions represented in two different ways Modeling & Problem Solving Interpret parameters in a linear, quadratic or exponential function Interpret slope/intercetp of linear model Create equations and inequalities in 1 variable Relate domain of function to its graph Write a function defined by a expression in different but equivalent forms Represent data on 2 quantitative variables on a scatter plot

25 Aspire, 8th Grade Percentage Scoring as Ready
New assessment – can’t compare to old EXPLORE and PLAN. This report shows the percentage of students who are on track to meet the benchmarks on the 11th grade ACT. If they maintain their current trajectory, they will at least meet the benchmarks on ACT.
