5. Reviewing SEN and SEMH Arrangements in Bromley
At the same time as Bromley is progressing the Reform agenda through the work of the SEND Reform Governance Board, two aligned reviews will be undertaken which consider:
Arrangements for children and young people with special educational needs (SEN)
Arrangements for children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH)

The meaningful involvement in which children and young people and their families participate in decision making processes which affect their lives.

12. Outcomes from the engagement event in September
We will clear about the benefits and advantages of effective engagement and the need to use simple accessible language.
Bromley has some good examples of engagement which should be celebrated and replicated more widely.
We will engage with young people and their families about the issue before we develop the solution.
We will establish an engagement infrastructure with a tiered approach.
We will ensure that commissioners across Education, Health and Care speak to each other and share information about their knowledge and activities.
We will develop a shared understanding of commissioning cycles and build a programme of engagement around these activities.

We recognise that there needs to be political sign-up in order to achieve effective engagement.
We will work with existing parents and young people’s forums to ensure that we achieve a wide and representative level of participation.
We will ensure that we listen to the views of commissioners, users and providers and that we provide evidence of the impact of that listening. We will demonstrate that all views have been taken into consideration.
We will ensure that all different voices are heard and will abide by the rules of Bromley’s young people.
We will put young people and families at the heart of an engagement journey which will involve developing and shaping, monitoring and reviewing services.
