Pontoon Draw – at the end of briefing Race package distribution – after Pontoon Draw Team Compositions must be handed in by team manager when pontoon position is selected. Final team composition changes must be made at the Sport Information Desk in athlete lounge between 11:00am – 11:15am tomorrow

7 Race package distribution
Your race package includes: Sheet of athlete number stickers for each athlete: 1 x bag number 1 x bike number 3 x helmet numbers 2 x drink bottle stickers Body decals set – both arms and both legs

8 Schedule – 7th April Time Activity 10:12 or 10:42
Athlete Bus leaves village (2 buses) 11:00 Check-in opens 11:45 Swim, bike and run course warm-up open Transition area open 12:30 Athlete check-in closes Cycle and run course warm-up closes

14 Check in procedure Athletes’ lounge
All team members must check-in together Uniform and gear check (name, country, GFS10, zippers) – photos will be taken of each uniform. Wearing a different uniform during the race = DSQ

15 Check in procedure Athletes’ lounge
GFS10 Equipment – bike, helmet, wheels – exemption approved and ITU Competition Rules will apply. But manufacturer identifications cannot be deemed conspicuous or seen as ambush marketing. Uniform & Clothing – GFS10 applies

Body marking check Swim cap distribution - Athletes wishing to wear a swim cap under the official cap must bring it for inspection at this check in (NOTE: only plain non-branded caps allowed)

Timing chip distribution 2 per athlete, one for each ankle 1st athlete will receive in athlete lounge Athletes 2/3/4 receive timing chips at relay zone Leave your personal gear in the Athletes’ Lounge in numbered box (will be transferred to recovery) Athletes 2/3/4 may wait in the recovery area

18 Transition Area All athletes must check in together
Running shoes go outside of your box Helmet on bike Water bottles totally un-branded or use the GC2018 ones The bike must be racked in the first transition by the rear wheel and in the second transition by any wheel

19 Warm up You will be allowed to warm up on the full swim course until 10mins prior to swim warm up closing. Then only in swim exit area until swim course is closed Bike & Run warm up will be on the entire course until 15mins prior to the close of the warm up – then in section between bridge and venue Only bikes on bike course – no bikes on the run course Once race has started only warm-up available is around athlete lounge

20 Pre-start procedure Athletes’ introduction
15 minutes before start – all athletes to line-up in recovery tent TOs will escort you to the finish line for the athletes’ introductions Team will be introduced together

21 Pre-start procedure Athletes’ introduction
When introduced all athletes will go towards the swim area. Athlete 2 / 3 / 4 will turn right after the tree to follow the swim exit back to transition. 1st athlete will continue to jog to the swim start area Take your position and stay behind the line! Blocking two positions – immediate DSQ

23 The course Swim - 1 lap of 250m Cycle – 7km - 2 laps of 3.5km
Run – 1.5km - 1 lap

24 Swim course Today at 10:30am - Water temperature: 25.1 °C
- Air temperature: 23 °C - WBGT: °C - Relative humidity: 97% Pontoon start, distance to the first turn buoy is 130 m 1 lap (total distance of 250m) – anti-clockwise Pass all PINK buoys on your left shoulder and two yellow ones on the right. Swim behavior will be closely monitored and recorded Take swim cap and goggles to transition and place into your box

25 Start Procedure The start can be given any time after the Head Referee announces “On Your Mark!” Air Horn Blast The race starts Athletes not moving forward from the start line = 10 second penalty in TA1 Delayed start athletes Athlete will move forward on the call of the designated official

26 False start procedure Athletes’ introduction
False start with many athletes: Several air horn blasts Water safety in front of you Everyone goes back to his or her original start spot via restart ramp Valid start but with early starters: If someone starts before the horn and everyone else starts with the horn, the false starter will receive a time penalty of 10 seconds in TA1. During the time penalty the athlete cannot touch any race equipment.

27 Swim Conduct Definition from the ITU CR §4.1: e.) Athletes may sportingly maintain their own space in the water: (i) Where athletes make accidental contact in the swim and then immediately afterwards move apart no penalty will be incurred; (ii) Where athletes make contact in the swim, and an athlete continues to impede the progress of the other athlete without moving apart, this action will result in a time penalty; (iii) Where athletes deliberately target another athlete to impede their progress, gain unfair advantage and potentially cause harm will result in disqualification and may be reported to ITU Arbitration Tribunal for potential suspension or expulsion.

28 Swim Conduct Definition from the ITU CR §4.1:
There will be additional boats and Technical officials deployed on the swim course to monitor athlete’s behaviour in this respect . Infringements will be recorded and appropriate action will be taken dependent on the rules definition from the previous slide . Please respect your fellow competitors and keep the race fair.

42 Relay Zone Prior to the relay exchange, the athletes will wait in the relay check-in zone until the Technical official tells them to enter the relay zone. Athletes need to be present at the check-in area. It is Athletes’ responsibility to be there and to collect timing chip ready for change-over The relay exchange from one team member to another will take place inside the Relay Zone

43 Relay Zone The relay exchange is completed by the incoming athlete, using their hand to contact the body of the out-going athlete within the relay zone If the contact occurs outside the relay zone, both athletes must return to the relay zone and complete the exchange properly If the exchange is not completed inside the relay zone, the team will be disqualified

45 Run penalty box Penalty box is for infringements in: Swim, TA1, Bike, TA2 and Run Location: Inside venue – box will be taped on ground in front of white tent Information: Board to show race numbers Procedure: 10 second time penalty served by ANY TEAM MEMBER If penalty is not served before finish the team will be DSQ NOTE: It is your responsibility to check the board

Team members 1 /2/ 3 may wait near recovery to be able to celebrate when final team member crosses the line TV/Flash Interviews Will change into podium uniform in athlete change area or recovery then wait in recovery till called for ceremonies All athlete gear will be transferred to recovery by Sport No congestion in the finish area: go to mixed zone/ recovery area No flags or ambush marketing on the podium

Accreditation is needed for every athlete going for testing Team Medical Access Team medical will be allowed to enter the medical tent after permission from the ITU Medical Delegate

51 Important notes All DNF athletes during the bike leg or run leg should go to the next Wheel Station, Aid Station or Medical Station and remain there until the end of the competition All DNF athletes have to report back to the athletes’ recovery & go through mixed zone Athletes 1/2/3 may be asked for quick interview once finished
