2 Welcome stewards You did not choose me but I chose you. And I appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask him in my name. I am giving you these commands so that you may love one another. John 15:16-17 Good Morning Stewards, Let’s pray. Holy Father, thank you for your love and wisdom. Please help us to walk worthy in the calling where you have called us to. In Jesus’ Name, Amen As we go through this training today, please remember these words that Jesus told his disciples, his stewards,

4 Who are stewards? Stewards are those who are appointed and committed to a place of trust. We are all appointed as stewards by God, the sovereign owner and ruler of this world. Stewardship requires our time, our abilities, and our financial offering for his benefit and glory.

6 Model for Choosing Stewards
Choose wise, understanding, and knowledgeable men from among your tribes, and I will make them heads over you.' 14 "And you answered me and said, 'The thing which you have told us to do is good.‘ Deuteronomy 1:13-14

7 The pastor appointed by the presiding bishop to the local church shall be the chairperson of the Board of Stewards. The pastor may appoint a chairperson pro tem to act in his or her absence. 8 Who are the “church” stewards?
They are Faithful Church Leaders who are: Appointed by the local pastor (chosen as pastor’s cabinet with 1-year appointments) Confirmed by the presiding elder of the district – Quarterly Conference Accountable to the pastor, church, and district Understanding of and willing to live out stewardship to God first and the Church, to assist the pastor in fulfilling Christ’s vision. Persons who love God and His Church (people) Servants rulers (leaders)

Servant workers holding the highest non- ordained offices in the local Church (member in good standing for at least 2 yrs.) Empowered persons willing to bring the vision to fruition (recall history).

13 THE CHURCH’S MISSION STATEMENT
The Mission of Greater Faith AME Church is to minister to the spiritual, intellectual, physical, emotional, and environmental needs of all people by spreading CHRIST'S liberation gospel through word and deed. The Church mission includes building and strengthening communities by improving living conditions through continual programs of (1) preaching the gospel, (2) outreach to the needy (3) tutorial services and vocational training, and (4) investment in youth development.

14 CHURCH’S VISION STATEMENT
The Vision of the Pastor and members of Greater Faith AME Church is that its Sanctuary on 800 Deltona Boulevard and other facilities to be built on 2135 Doyle Road, Deltona will serve to allow families to experience the joy of Christian living and Worship through Word- Centered Preaching and Teaching, personalized training, and provisions of spiritual refuge from the routine day-to-day activities. Here, children can play safely and people can interact on a daily basis. The Church is a beacon of Christ’s light to the world, sowing His seeds of Faith, Hope, and Love, glorifying God!

16 responsibilities Seek the needy and distressed in order to relieve and comfort them. They shall make accurate reports of every expenditure of money, whether to the pastor, church, sick or poor. 34 Then the king will say to those at his right hand, 'Come, you that are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; 35 for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me. Matthew 25:34-40

17 responsibilities Make an exact account of all money or other provisions collected for the support of the pastor of the mission, circuit or station. Negotiate the salary and benefits of the minister with the minister, according the ability of the congregation, including: pension or retirement, insurance( s): health, disability, professional liability, key person life insurance*; self-employment tax; parsonage or housing allowance; continuing education; travel: connectional, episcopal district, conference, inner parish, and all other related to official duties. Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in preaching and teaching; 18 for the scripture says, "You shall not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain," and, "The laborer deserves to be paid." 1 Timothy 5:17-18

18 responsibilities They shall attend the Quarterly Conference of their circuit or station to give advice, if asked, in planning for the circuit or station. They shall attend committee meetings for the disbursing of money to churches and give counsel in matters of arbitration. They shall write circular letters to societies of a circuit when occasion requires to let them know the state of temporal concern at the last quarterly meeting and to urge them to be more liberal in their contributions. Matthew 25: "His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.‘ Proverbs 1: A wise man will hear and increase learning, And a man of understanding will attain wise counsel, 6 To understand a proverb and an enigma, The words of the wise and their riddles. 7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction.

19 responsibilities They shall register all baptisms, marriages and deaths within the congregation. They shall provide the implements and elements for the Holy Communion. In the third quarter of each conference year shall conduct a survey of the membership of the church. Update the church roll. " I have manifested Your name to the men "And all Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine, and I am glorified in them. 11 "Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are. 12 "While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled John 17:6-10

20 Should Attend Bible study, Trainings, official board and steward meetings
Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved by Him, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly explaining the word of truth. NRS 2 Timothy 2:15

21 Make other disciples 6 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. 17 When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 "teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen. Matthew 28:16-20
