How to Design a Micro-Lesson…
What’s the problem? What’s happening on some Tuesday in: NOVEMBER What does the DREAM STATE look like? What SKILL or MINDSET will get them there? What do they need MOST? Memorization Mastery Presentation Motivation Personalization Practice Video Animation Game Scenario Infographic Screencast Simulation What FORMAT is best? Job Aid _________ How to Design a Micro-Lesson… People are spending too much time in meetings and can’t get any “real” work done! Joe is sitting in a weekly staff meeting. He has a ton of work to get done, but he has to sit as they go around the table explaining what they are working on. He wonders why he is there.

Mgrs will be respectful of people’s time regarding meetings. They’ll think about the impact on attendees when deciding whether to have a meeting, what to do in the meeting, and deciding how long it will be.

We have a responsibility to do it (team work, micro, etc
We have a responsibility to do it (team work, micro, etc.) this way moving forward since it’s so effective! The flow chart helps! Define the problem first! Need a constant reminder to stay laser focused. Action mapping helps! (Cathy Moore) Still need to advocate for the learner and the business goal Just because you can (include it) doesn’t mean you should Microlearning <> Chunking There’s no single “right” toolset LESSONS LEARNED Easy with groups – doesn’t necessarily save time, but can produce a better product Being in teams helps! Able to accomplish the goal because of teamwork (masterminds) Struggle with being able to do this with just one person Live review can be really helpful Start with text – work from there Start simple! Agile. What can you get out now? Start there. No tests! Do you really need it?
