7 The Economic Benefits of Head Start

9 One Child’s Story How Early Head Start has helped two-year old Rider:
He has learned to love reading. He gets nutritious foods at the Early Head Start center. His mom found time to attend school. Meet two-year old Rider from rural Arkansas. Early Head Start has helped him transform from a withdrawn child to one who is excited to participate in classroom activities. He loves books and is interesting in trying the new nutritious foods that he receives at the center. Not only has Early Head Start helped Rider thrive, but it has helped his mom, Lyric, as well. Lyric now has the time to attend school, where she is studying to be a nurse. She’s earning all A’s and has her sights set on being a doctor one day.
