6 International perspective
OECD Questionnaire completed Sept. 08 Visits in December 08 ( fact finding) and in Spring 09 (policy visit) Country note Provide advice and guidance – based on international best practice raise awareness of differences & also the similarity of our challenges and opportunities Offer independent policy recommendations

7 EU Ireland will provide its views on the Green Paper
Migrants here are mainly first generation Adults are highly educated Most are achieving well Language needs Need for a positive climate in schools

8 OECD Country Note Evidence based data being collected to inform Ireland from an international perspective about the development of the intercultural education strategy Intercultural Education Strategy in 2009 will be launched but format, as yet, undecided
