2 About Us: Shadow Oaks Elementary provides an elementary education for pre-kindergarten through 5th grade students. The 52-year-old school is located near the intersection of Interstate 10 and Beltway 8. The two-story campus was rebuilt last year and features a broadcast studio and two science labs. Each grade level is contained to a pod that features an area with a stage for students to use in the collaboration of projects and activities. The campus is the first school in Spring Branch Independent School District to participate in the Playworks program. Playworks is a nonprofit organization that provides students safe, healthy, and inclusive physical activity to students through recess, classroom lessons, and interscholastic sports leagues. Students are able to participate in many activities through the 21st Century ACE after-school program. The program also provides technology-based learning activities for the students during the summer.

3 SOE Mission and Creed Mission: Creed:
At Shadow Oaks Elementary, we are dedicated to providing the highest quality learning experience for all students. Creed: I believe I can learn. I can learn. I will learn. If it is to be, It is up to me.

4 Shadow Oaks Belief Statement
We, believe.. Safety is above else. Strategic decisions are made in the best interest of children. All stakeholders have inherent value and worth. In the value of parents as partners and as their children's first teachers. In the value of uniqueness as a resource. The highest expectations for all yield positive self-esteem, acceptable behavior standards and optimum performance. Life-long learning is the responsibility of all. Data is the core for decision making. In accountability and clear expectations at all levels of our organization. Students should be active participants in the learning process.

5 Staff Demographics Shadow Oaks Elementary School teachers are a diverse group. Master’s degrees are held by 18.3% of the faculty and staff. Many of the faculty and staff share their talents and hobbies with students by teaching in the after school program or incorporating them into classroom content. The school has two “Cruiseships,” which are afternoons where every member of the faculty and staff teach a group of students something they know how to do. Examples of past activities include drawing, dancing, making hair bows, scrapbooking, and chess.
