Manatees live in the Florida waterways Florida is a state in the USA The state of Florida is designated as a refuge and sanctuary to the manatee

3 What does a manatee eat? manatees are herbivorous
They feed daily on vegetation Each day they consume up to 15% of their body weight

4 What size is a manatee? Manatee averages 10 feet in length.
They weigh an average of 1,000 lbs an adult manatee spends 6 to 8 hours eating

5 Is a manatee dangerous? Manatees are related to elephants
They are not dangerous. Tourists can swim with them They are sometimes called “gentle giants”.
