Requires assessment for all learning outcomes for all programs 2 programs: Business Administration (AS) & Business Professional (AAS) 2 certificates: Finance & Small Business Management

3 Business Outcomes Assessment Exam (BOAT) exam
Internally developed exam Assesses several learning outcomes for both degree programs Given at end of each semester in Principles of Accounting II Benchmark Goal: Minimum grade of 70% for each learning outcome Students self identify if they have taken core business courses

ACBSP feedback in 2013 Accreditation Report BOAT didn’t assess the following learning outcome: Use current software applications to present data in written reports, oral and visual presentations Communication skills need to be assessed

Actions: Capstone with pre-reqs of ENG 111, ENG 112, and Business Information Systems Developed assessment of writing skills Professor determined project/ assignment Use writing rubric provided by English department Developed assessment of Power-Point skills & verbal communication Professor determined student presentation assignment Developed presentation/ communications rubric Benchmark Goal: 70% of “exceptional & effective” ratings Assessment conducted each semester each all traditional & hybrid sections of Principles of Management
