2 End of Course Program At the September 12th State Board Meeting the Board approved the Department’s recommendation that an EOC final be administered in the associated courses: EOC Math I - Algebra 1 or an equivalent course that has been state approved EOC Math II - Geometry or an equivalent course that has been state approved EOC Integrated Math I - Integrated Math I or an equivalent course that has been state approved EOC Integrated Math II - Integrated Math II or an equivalent course that has been state approved EOC ELA - English 10 or an equivalent course that has been state approved

3 End of Course Program Also at the September 12th State Board Meeting:
EOCs, independently, are no longer a graduation requirement, but must be administered at the conclusion of the courses. The course work is still a requirement. The State Board adopted a phased in approach for including the EOC test in the course grade. For the school year there is a requirement to pass the course but no state requirement that the EOC Final is passed or that the final count for a specific percentage of a student’s grade.

4 Course Grade Calculation Phased Implementation
School Year No percentage requirement, district discretion to set a percentage of the student’s final grade if it chooses to. School Year 10% of course grade School Year 15% of course grade School Year and beyond 20% of course grade Mr. Lords will discuss CCHS’s percentage requirement with department heads at the next department head meeting.

5 End of Course Exams Mathematics I and II and Integrated Math I and II will be offered as paper tests. ELA Part 1 will be offered as a paper test and scored locally. ELA Part 2 will be offered online and scored by and external vendor, DRC. Accommodated versions available.

6 Testing Time Requirements All Math, ELA Part 1
Each paper test is broken into two section with approximately 20 items per section. Suggested testing time is 1 to 1.5 hours per section. The test sections can be administered on the same or separate days. Once a section is started, it should be completed on the same day. (Ultimately, a district decision.) The test is NOT a timed test. Students must be given additional time if requested. The pencil/paper tests should be Scantron compatible.

ELA Part 1, All Math Test Materials Arrive in Districts February 5 Braille Test Materials Arrive in Districts March Scoring Guides Arrive in Districts TDB Testing Window At the end of the second semester, but early enough to include in grade calculations. Local Scoring by Districts Allow plenty of time.

8 Online Testing Time ELA Part 2
The online test for ELA Part 2 consists of one section with a passage and a writing response item or performance task. The passage in Part 2 is the same passage as in Part 1. The writing response should be completed during one test session due to test security. It is an on demand writing sample; not rough and final drafts. (Ultimately, a district decision.) The online item will not lock overnight.

9 Online Test Key Dates Online ELA Part 2 Test Setup Opens; Districts/schools can upload students and sessions February 1 Testing can start February 1 (or as soon as students and sessions have been uploaded) Deadline for test submission in order to receive ELA Part 2 scores by May 1 April 13

11 District and State Communication
Data on student participation and results will not be sent to, managed by, to the state. Participation and results will be managed only by the teacher, school, district.
