RPE at a glance Location of Kenya in Africa Kenya is situated on the eastern coast of Africa & lies astride the equator. Its total area, including 11,230 sq km of water, is 582,650 sq km.

JKUAT is established in a 200 ha farmland, donated by the founding father of the nation, Mzee Jomo Kenyatta, hence the name. Our Motto Setting Trends in Higher Education, Research and Innovation

5 RPE at a glance The Genesis of JKUAT Started as a middle level college (Jomo Kenyatta College of Agriculture and Technology - JKCAT) by GOK with generous assistance from the Japanese Government (JICA) 1981 Became a constituent College of Kenyatta University & the name JKCAT changed to Jomo Kenyatta University College of Agriculture and Technology (JKUCAT) 1988 Became a University & the name again changed to it’s current name, JKUAT 1994
