1 The Country Club Elevator
Presented to you by: TEAM DOMINATION (Chris Turbeville, Griffin Smith, David Spencer, and Ian Doss)

2 Design Overview Golf ball ramp Barrier Golf cart track Funnel barrier
Funnel and sand Bucket and pulley

3 Stored Energy Overview
Golf ball on ramp PE = (0.046 kg)(9.81 m/s²)(0.27 m) = J Golf cart on track KE = ½(0.063 kg)(0.628 m/s)² = J Sand falling through funnel PE = (0.341 kg)(9.81 m/s²)(1.00 m) = 3.35 J

4 Design/Construction Issues
Golf cart ran off track Golf cart stuck to railing Golf cart did not move funnel barrier Golf ball missed barrier Solutions Put up railing Removed railing and sanded down track Clamped down supports and stiffened funnel barrier Moved barrier further away from track

5 Conclusions Potential energy can be converted to kinetic energy to do work. Friction hampers conversion of potential to kinetic energy. Loose components can cause energy loss. Efficiency can be improved by making collisions more elastic.
