Testing Requirements for Graduation Class of 2021 and Beyond PARCC
Note: *”Eligible” is defined as a student who is enrolled in a high-school level course for which there is a PARCC test. This includes all of these courses: Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, ELA 9, ELA 10, and ELA 11. ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS (ELA) PARCC ELA Grade 10 (must take and pass) ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ If passing score is not met on PARCC ELA Grade 10, then the student must have taken PARCC ELA Grade 9 and PARCC ELA Grade 10 PARCC ELA Grade 11 before they can meet the criteria of the NJDOE Portfolio Appeal

English as a Second Language Program
Eligibility is based on the results of a state-approved English language placement test. Students at Levels I and II receive 10 credits. This course serves as both the student’s English class and ELL support. Students at Level III receive 5 credits. This serves as a support in addition to the student’s regular English class.

Seal of Biliteracy The Seal of Biliteracy seeks to:
Encourage students to study language Certify attainment of biliteracy Prepare students with 21st Century Skills Recognize and promote second language instruction in public schools

Seal of Biliteracy In order to be eligible to receive the Seal of Biliteracy, students must meet the following criteria: Students must demonstrate a proficiency level of Intermediate Mid in a World Language. Students must demonstrate proficiency in English by meeting state high school graduation requirements in English or its alternatives, including State ELA assessments. *Specific testing criteria proficiency scores are available through the World Language Department.

Partnerships with local colleges and universities offer our students college credits for qualifying courses they take in high school. ROTC Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) is a program designed to develop citizens of character, dedicated to serving their nation and community. The AFJROTC program provides citizenship training and an aerospace science class for high school students.

All students must take PE/Health. *Physical Education exemptions (Independent Study Physical Education) must go through Physical Education/Health Supervisor.

NCAA Eligibility For student athletes, you must take note that there are core course eligibility requirements for participation in NCAA Division I & II athletics. Guidance counselors are available to support students through this process. 30

Electives Elective courses are worth either 2.5 or 5 credits
Students are requested to choose two alternates for every elective chosen. When choosing two alternate electives for each first elective choice, choose those that correspond to either 2.5 or 5 credits.
