How Do We Balance Imagination and Reality
2
Research The main research topics I am incorporating: Neuroscience
Qualia and Inverted Qualia Philosophy Epiphenomenon Cognitive Science Consciousness/Unconsciousness Dualism Panpsychism
3
Strengths To Build Upon
Research Abilities (Expanding Reading) Transdisciplinary Linking Critical Reflection (Effective Self-Critique) Professional Connection Integration Between Theory and Practice

External Field Influence
Considering the disciplines already associated with said question, I would like to add several different field finings. Already Immediately Associated: Neuroscience Qualia Psychology Cognitive Science Dualism Consciousness Epiphenominon Not Immediately Associated: Panpsychism Cosmopsychism Animism

Audience The main topic brought to examination by said question is relatable to several different audiences. One of these audiences could be people involved in the arts. This is due to the idea that if you understand exactly how you can make someone interact with colour, you can create an artefact to perfectly convey the statement you wish to make. Another could be the science community (Neuroscience, Psychology, etc.). The arguments involved with entertaining this question are most likely to cross-examine, and most probably disagree with, the contemporary scientific ideas driving science such as materialism (for example). Knowing this is most likely to either provoke certain types of scientists to create a further discussion, or slightly change their perspective on their own work (Niel Theise, M.D. for example). The audience most likely to connect with would be philosophers. I come to this conclusion because, any argument science has been able to establish, philosophy has a way of questioning it until the whole foundation of that argument is rethought (Consciousness in particular). With the basis of said question, if the premise and execution is strong enough then it could give a another view point to examine already existing philosophies examining consciousness and visual perception/experience.

Action Plan What are the ways in which I will ensure I progress to the ability of being able to start a PhD, and to successfully achieve the title ‘Dr’.
7
Progress Towards a PhD As a way of progressing towards the topic(s) I am considering, I will be engineering my Bachelors and Masters Degree to be able to use the previous qualification before as a basis for the next. Thus the transition will be considerably easier. Another way to ensure a better transition will be to branch out to people in PhD departments in order to create a ‘launching pad’ that I can connect with and discover the most current research to help inform my own.

Tackling a PhD Preparation
The best pathway I can see: Continue an open dialog with the PhD lab (CSAD). Tailor my Bachelors degree to open into a Masters (most likely MRes). Further develop expertise with a Masters in preparation for a PhD. The only set backs are: Financing Narrowing down the most suitable Supervisor Unforeseen circumstances.
