(or what do you do with it when no one wants it any more?)

2 Methods of Disposal Almost all equipment funnels through Surplus via PETS. Cost Applied Transfer to state approved Non-Profits. Cost Applied Transfer when a PI is leaving ECU to another non-profit. Trade-In to vendor for a reduced cost on purchase(s). Transfers to another department.

3 PETS to Surplus All equipment that needs to be surplused, goes through PETS. Quantity is always one (1). If not, the line will be deleted. ECU Asset tag is always on Disposal Request (DR) If you decide to not send an item to surplus once you have the labels, put the label on the paperwork and put a zero (0) in the box and initial.

5 Cost Applied Transfer to Non-Profits
Medical Institutions School/school systems Educational Radio/TV Stations Public Libraries Civil Defense

6 Cost Applied Transfer when PI Leaves
Contact Laura Williams Name of PI and contact information List of equipment Name of University Contact at University Grants (Open or Closed) Letter from Dean of Department

7 Trade In Copy of quote Property Trade-In form from FA website
Submit to NCSSPA for approval Keeps money in department Saves the State money

8 Transfers to Departments
Fill out the Fixed Asset Transfer form in it’s entirety. This is found on the FA website Send to OR

9 Items that do not go to Surplus
