2 The Commonwealth Fund 2007 National Survey of Nursing Homes
Examine the penetration of the culture change movement at the national level. Measure the extent to which nursing homes are adopting culture change principles and practicing resident-centered care. Assess benefits of adopting culture change principles. The primary goal is to improve quality of care, with a secondary goal of reducing disparities. As such, the targeted areas for improving healthcare quality are aligned with the health care quality framework developed by the IOM and widely used by those working to improve quality of care.
