Science department study club
Pupils are reminded that the science department operates a sign up system for Thursday study club. The sign-up sheet is on the notice board outside room 25. The sign-up sheet will give you information on individual teachers’ availability and any specific topic they can focus on that week. You are free to sign up for help from any of the subject teachers.

S4/5/6/ College applications
Moray College would prefer all applications in by 7th March, and North East Scotland College (Aberdeen and Fraserburgh Colleges) want applications in by the beginning of March. If you are even vaguely considering full-time college next year, please see your Guidance teacher who can help you apply. Applications for the Wednesday college courses are open ONLY for pupils who are planning to leave school in Interviews will be in March. Please see your Guidance teacher for support filling in the application.

Study Law at University
Pupils interested in applying to study Law at University, there are mentors available to support you getting ready for your application next year. Please let your Guidance teacher know if you are interested.

Lucky squares The S3 Mair pupils are organising a ‘lucky squares’ to fundraise for YPI. We will be selling squares (£1 per square) to staff and pupils at break outside the hall for the next 2 weeks. Prizes for pupils – Amazon and ITunes vouchers. Prizes for staff – a range of bottles. Please support us in this fundraising effort Mair

Careers Appointments Gayna our SDS adviser is in school Monday and Tuesday with appointments advertised on the plasma screens. If you want to make an appointment see your Guidance Teacher.

Summer Job – S3/4/5/6 Are you interested in working at catering events over the summer? G&M Whyte Caterers are based in Grange and have events at different locations. They have written to us asking for KGS pupils to apply for summer jobs. Please contact them on or Your Guidance teachers are happy to help you make contact.

Oil and Gas Apprenticeship
S4/5/6: Are you interested in working in the oil and gas sector? Apply for an apprenticeship at ogtap.co.uk - ask your Guidance teacher for advice and help. You need to be at least 16 by May and have at least four Nat 5s, in English, Maths, one in Engineering Science, Chemistry or Physics, and one in any other subject.

Place to study, revise and seek support for Literacy and Numeracy issues. iPads and other technology available. This is a drop in facility and can be for long term or short term support. Students attending should sign up for the late bus.
