La Fondation Rinaldi The Rinaldi Foundation, or the Office for Planning and Development of the Salesians of Don Bosco in Haiti, was created on July 24, 2008, and it received the authorization to pursue its mission on December 4, 2009. Its objectives are clearly recorded in the Statutes, found in LE MONITEUR #145 : To work for the human, economic, social, and cultural development of the poor and disadvantaged youth of the Salesian communities and programs in Haiti.
21
The Rinaldi Foundation
Devise, manage and execute programs and projects that are oriented towards the improvement of life for social groups in a situation of poverty. Incorporate these projects into a global strategy of sustainable development.
22
The Rinaldi Foundation
The Rinaldi Foundation remains faithful to the goals that drive the presence of the Salesians in Haiti: Vocational Training Centers Elementary and Secondary Schools Social projects that look to welcome, form and reintegrate street children(LAKOU and LAKAY Centers)
23
The Rinaldi Foundation
* Boarding schools, scholarships, and meals to promote and facilitate learning and vocational formation. * The assistance and accompaniment of children and youth in their free time (the formation of youth groups for reflection, sports, and cultural activities), as well as training for entrepreneurship. * Teaching a life of community along with social and religious engagement.

Challenges To effectively train confreres and lay people in the field of vocational training (the lack of qualified personnel has a negative impact on vocational schools in a country where even state authorities are unable to determine the rules). This is why it is necessary to find scholarships at vocational training centers for at least 12 young people who have already received a diploma in Electricity, Mechanics, Construction, or Carpentry.
26
Challenges Train and retrain teachers at a theoretical and practical level in their profession. Develop academic exchanges with vocational training centers in the region (Canada, USA, Latin America and the Caribbean). Provide quality training (which is very expensive) without ceasing to be faithful to our goal of serving the poorest youth.
27
Challenges At the end of their training, young people are often unable to find a job. Haiti is not industrialized; therefore, how can we aid the poorest youth to invest in the creation of small and medium-sized enterprises so that their training is not a waste and they can earn a living?
28
Challenges Reinforce the organizational structures of certain programs so that they do not come to resemble merely personal works. Promote the self-financing of certain of our projects. Strengthen the structure of the Rinaldi Foundation so that it can generate the funds needed to continue its mission of serving the neediest youth. Further involve the Haitian state in financing programs for the benefit of street children.
