2. Introduction
Ages and Stages is a developmental and social-emotional screening for children from one month to 5 ½ years.
It is highly reliable and valid
ASQ looks at strengths and trouble spots, educates parents about developmental milestones, and incorporates parents' expert knowledge about their children.

3. The ASQ is “designed for parents” and adjusted for 4th to 6th grade level of reading for easier understanding
Research supports that parent/care provider observation is quite accurate
The tool is effective and affordable
Results can be shared so everyone involved with the child has developmental information

4. More about the ASQ
The ASQ 3 screens five domains of development: gross motor, fine motor, communication, problem solving and personal-social domains.
The ASQ-SE is part of the detailed screening. The “Social-Emotional” (SE) covers cognitive, communication and motor development--this includes autonomy, communication, affect, compliance, and interaction with people.
The SE age intervals do not always match ASQ 3
