You must develop great communication skills and be able to communicate your needs, and be willing to be vulnerable so that people can connect with you on the heart and soul level vs. up in your head. One of the most important parts of a financially successful business is understanding the finances once you have serviced your clients. This is one of the reasons that an owner can get frustrated about making money in a business but nothing to show for in the end. The accounting must be done on a regular basis – at a minimum on a monthly basis but for a company, it must be done daily. The numbers will tell a story about how your business is doing but many entrepreneurs only focus on the selling side. The be successful, you must focus on making sure your business is built on a solid foundation for future growth, marketing to your ideal clients and then looking at the numbers.
