Write an adventure story. Include at least one main character that goes on an adventure.
This will be turned in at the end of class on the same paper as the Quiz Questions for the Exit Ticket.

4. Key Words
Mythology- From the Greek word Mythos. Beliefs that revolve around supernatural forces. Mythology beliefs were initially passed down verbally, eventually written down by later generations. Purpose was to explain the universe and all that is in it.
Epic- Long narrative poems about heroes’ adventures. A quest or journey undertaken in search of something of value. Searches the unknown world. Involve the supernatural forces.. Hero is glorified at the end. Told from memory. Sometimes accompanied with music. Modern Epics include The Matrix, Star Wars, The Hobbit.
Allusion- Reference to a famous person, place, or event

Hubris- Excessive self pride or self-confidence. In all of Greek literature, especially in The Odyssey. Prideful to a fault. Insulting to others. Causes problems.
