You are just relaxing when you hear a loud ¨BOOM!¨ You hear it again and you start running. For the third time you hear you sister cry out in pain before hitting the ground dead. Then you hear the same thing happen to your brother, then your friend. A second later you too, fall dead. The last thing you see is pounding feet running… running… running… No, you are not in a war zone. You are an Elephant being poached for your ivory.
Elephants do not choose to go at war. Humans can. Why do Elephants get treated different than people? Why do certain people ivory poach? Are we the generation to loose elephants? What will happen if ivory poaching is not stopped? To find out these answers, keep reading.

3. What If Ivory Poaching Is Not Stopped
If ivory poaching is not stopped, there is a big problem ahead.
Numbers of Elephants are lowering. If ivory poaching is not stopped, Elephant numbers will keep on lowering until all Elephants are extinct. Not only will Elephants be extinct, but the people who buy ivory will also be unhappy. If Elephants keep on getting threatened with extinction, one day the threat will go through.

If ivory poaching is stopped now, there will still be hope for the Elephants.

4. The Generation To Loose Elephants
If ivory poaching isn't stopped, elephants will go extinct. There may be a time in our generation that the Elephants join the dinosaurs. Ivory poaching is getting more popular, and the Elephant numbers have dropped by 62% over the last decade. An example that shows this is about 96 African Elephants are poached every day for their ivory.
¨Between 2010 and 2014, the price of ivory in China tripled driving illicit poaching through the roof.¨-
Ivory poaching is getting more popular, and less people are caring that they are killing an endangered species (Elephants). Some people may not even know they are buying something that an Elephant got killed for. This needs to stop.

5. Why Ivory Poach?
While most think ivory poaching is wrong, there are still ones who don´t.
Some people near Elephants may have a hard time finding a job. Some people might think why have a normal job when you can get payed great amounts for ivory poaching? They may not be educated on what they are really doing when they ivory poach. They also may not be aware that they are poaching an endangered animal.
One of the main reasons why people ivory poach, is because it is a misconception. For example, tourists may see ivory as a beautiful piece of jewelry the projects an image of wealth, or high social status. This will cause the people supplying ivory to get encouraged. This problem cannot be fixed easily, but by not ivory poaching or buying ivory yourself, you are already helping.

6. Elephants Deserve To Stay
Ivory poaching should cease to exist. Ivory poaching often gets overlooked, and many people don't understand or know what is happening with the Elephants. You may not realize it, but just like you might have a loved one at war with other countries, Elephants are at war with us. The only problem, is that Elephants cannot fight back. This is why the Elephants are going extinct.
Elephants are in grave danger without our help. Don't just have an opinion, that can´t save the Elephants. If the buying of ivory stops, so will the killing. Do not wait, go save the Elephants now!
