1 Seneca By Abigail Szarowicz

2 Family All of the family live in the same home.
The mom teaches the daughter how to cook.

3 Tools/Medicine They used bows and arrows to hunt.
Birds blood is their medicine. Carved stones are used to carve food.

4 Clothing Women in the summer wear leggings and tunics.
Women in the winter wear cloaks and robes. Men always wear finger woven garters , belt , cotton trade shirt , and a fridged hunting shirt.

5 Area Lived/Language/Transportation
They live in mostly N.Y., Oklahoma or Canada. Seneca people speak Seneca or English. They travel by elm-bark and dug out canoes.

6 Food/Farming A chipped stone help carve their farming like corn.
Also the stone helps sharpen the other knifes to also carve farming. The big food for the tribe is different colored food.

7 Shelter One home is the wigwam that is made by bending saplings in a criss-cross pattern in a dome shape made of bass-wood. Then there are longhouses made of the same way as the wigwam. They both live in a village together.

8 Hunting/Gathering Seneca people gathered from a net.
They gather garden corn, beans, and squash. They garden the seeds from what they eat.

9 Games/Entertainment The boys play a game called Hoop.
The girls do each others hair. Boys and girls some times wrestle.

10 Ceremonies/Festivals
Maple fest is where everyone collect sap to make syrup and sugar. Plant fest is where everyone plants seeds. New Years is where the tribe celebrates the NEW YEAR!
