LORD OF THE FLIES BY: LORIANNA ANDERSON, SANIQUA TURPIN, JUCQUESE PHILIPS

Theme As the novel progresses, Golding shows how different people feel the influences of the instincts of civilization and savagery to different degrees. Piggy, for instance, has no savage feelings, while Roger seems barely capable of understanding the rules of civilization

Setting The story of Lord Of The Flies takes place on an abandoned island.

Main Topic In the book lord of the flies by William Golding the main thing that happened that was when a plane of boys from a private school had to evacuate from the war zone had crashed on an island and they were forced to make their own rules while living here without any help from parents or adults.

Ralph In the story Ralph was elected the leader of these boys while they were staying on this island. He had to try to create rules that would give these boys some order so it would be a good life on the island. He was considered the clam and cool one at times when he needed to be.

Piggy Piggy wasn’t the smallest boy on the island and his weight sometimes made the other boys look down to him or look at him differently. Although he still had a lot of knowledge and could be considered the smartest person they had on the island.

Simon Simon was the most laid back character and was a hard worker. When he was asked to do something that wasn’t weird he had no problem doing it. When the other boys didn’t work as Ralph told them to he would always be the only one working with Ralph.

Jack

Jack one of the older boys stranded on the island. Jack becomes the leader of the hunters but longs for total power and becomes increasingly wild, and cruel as the novel progresses. Jack, adept at manipulating the other boys, represents the instinct of savagery within human beings, as opposed to the civilizing instinct Ralph represents.

Roger The one who is always messing with the liluns even though he is older. Eventually he is the one that kills piggy.

Sam And Eric A pair of twins that are close with Ralph. The other boys often treat them as one calling them samneric. They are apart of the group called the biguns.
