For Y6 Parents

2. SATs have been taking place for several years in England
SATs have been taking place for several years in England. In March 2014 the DfE published an outline for new assessments – several changes have been taking place that over the last year. Results of the SATs do not affect your child’s secondary school place which they will find out about in March Results and teacher assessments are requested by secondary schools to help stream pupils in ability groups.

Reading, SPaG and Maths tests will be sent away to be marked externally.
Writing will be assessed internally.
