2 Location My city is located in China.

3 GeographyLayout Shanghai is located next to the Yangtze River Delta on the East coast. The city is known for its rivers and lakes that are rich water resources. Except for a few hills lying in the southwest corner, most parts of the Shanghai area are flat. The average sea level elevation is about 4 meters.

4 Social Makeup Some of the ethnic groups are Hui, Uighur, Kazakh, Tartar. Shanghai is one of the most populated cities in China. The population is 23,019,200 and from that,12.21 million live in the urban areas. There are 2059 inhabitants per square kilometers.

5 Throughout history Shanghai started out as a humble fishing village and has grown into a metropolis and major financial centre of China. Since the 1990s, bigger buildings have been built by chinese people and everything is more modern now. It used to be completely empty but now, there are building everywhere.

6 Contribution Shanghai has highyield of agricultural production in China. Shanghai can produce enough grain, meat, eggs, milk, vegetable and fruit for citizens in the city and outside the city. The city’s industrial production is growing rapidly but affecting the country’s environment and geography. Shanghai is China’s most important city economically and it’s also the largest.

7 Importance Shanghai has the largest port in the whole world. It has the most unique skyscrapers which attracts a lot of tourists. Finally it is home to the largest and most impressive ancient Chinese art and artifacts.

8 Interaction Shanghai interacts with almost all cities around the world because they have the biggest port in the whole world. They also have many industries which make and export all kinds of things all around the world.

9 Conflicts In July 1937 the 2ndSino-Japanese War broke out because of a military conflict. During the first months of the war, the city of Shanghai was brought under the control of the Japanese army.

10 Why Is It Popular My city is popular for it’s amazing skyscrapers. People often come and see the architecture because it is very distinctive compared to other cities. It’s also next to the ocean. Another reason why people go to Shanghai is to learn about the Chinese traditions.

Shanghai World Financal Center (height: 492 m / 1,614 ft ,year 2008)  comments: tallest building in china , and contains the highest observation deck in the World.

Jin Mao Tower (height: 421m / 1,380 ft , year: 1998) Comments: highest completed building in the 1990s

13 What’s So Popular About It?
Oriental Pearl tower (height: 468 m / 1,535 ft ,year 1994) Comments: Observation tower and communications antenna.
