5 Over all film density or degree of darkness is too light for this film to be useful for interproximal caries detection The over all of this image is superior to that in first image for the detection of caries lesion

6 The area adjacent to the shadow of the object radiographed in which there is some unsharpness is called the pernumbra. Note in this diagram how the use of a “long – cone” technique and a small focal spot results in the smallest pernumbra. This will result in the best image “sharpness”
