Experience: To give students opportunities to practice and reinforce course objectives to enhance personal and professional development. Empowerment: To increase student confidence in incorporating course concepts in their personal lives and professional careers.

Theory X (Push) – 10 Things/6 Things Theory Y (Guide) 1. Student dislike schoolwork and will avoid it if they can. 1. Schoolwork is a natural activity, like play or rest. 2. Most students need to be coerced and threatened in order for them to provide quality schoolwork. Students require close monitoring. 3. Students generally become committed to objectives with they are rewarded for doing so. 3. Most student prefer explicit direction. They tend to avoid responsibility and exhibit little ambition. They are interested only in passing the class. 2. Students are capable of self-direction and self-control if they are committed to objectives. 4. The typical student can learn to accept and seek responsibility. 5. The typical student has imagination, ingenuity, and creativity.

Total Quality Management (TQM): An organizational focus on training, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.
