3 Questions Why do you think the author made the letters come alive?
Do you think all of the letters will make it to the top of the tree? Do you know what kind of tree the book is talking about? Have you ever seen one before? Did any of the letters fall from the tree? If so, why do you think this happened? List some of your favorite letters and the injuries occurred to them. What might not be real in this story? What are some things that could be real?

5 Introduction A told B and B told C, “I’ll meet you at the top of the Coconut tree”.

6 Task We're going on a trip to the rainforest to learn about coconut trees. -Group 1:Letters A-E -Group 2:Letters F-J -Group 3:Letters K-O -Group 4:Letters P-T -Group 5:Letters U-Z

7 Process The groups will take their letters and come up with their own rhymes. The finishing product will be where the students will combine all of their rhymes to create their own version of the story.

8 Conclusion Your job is now finished, you all did a great job making your coconut trees, and learning the rhyming words in the story! Now it’s time to take our trip to the rainforest 

9 Extensions Have the teacher read Chicka Chicka Boom Boom aloud again.
Crack open and try coconuts. Compare the original story and their new story. Report on Coconut trees. Create own coconut tree on metal cookie sheet using magnetic letters

10 Evaluation The student listens to the teacher read the story aloud and reads along with video. The student identifies letters and draws letters of name onto the trunk of the coconut tree. The student matches rhyming words found in Chicka Chicka Boom Boom.
