1 Prof. Jun Yanagimoto (The University of Tokyo)
Ph.D. (1989), Tokyo University Thesis: Complex element method for the metal forming simulations 2003-present Professor, Institute of Industrial Science, The University of Tokyo Associate Professor, Institute of Industrial Science, The University of Tokyo Lecturer, Institute of Industrial Science, The University of Tokyo , Guest Researcher, Aachen University of Technology, Germany • Three-dimensional FE analysis for rolling and extrusion • Microstructure control of product by hot forming using numerical analysis • Semi-solid forming of non-ferrous alloys and ferrous alloys • Measurement of flow stress and microstructure evolution at elevated temperature • Physical and numerical simulation of heavy-reduction rolling to manufacture ultrafine-grained steels • Novel sheet forming for the manufacturing light-weight construction • Forming and joining of non-metallic sheets

2 Rolling control system with microstructure analysis, Metal Matrix Composite electric wire and Stamping of stainless sheet for heat exchanger I am convinced that university-industry collaboration, which originates from the proposals and idea from the universities, is indispensable at chairs and laboratories in engineering schools and institutes. I will summarize our three latest collaborative investigations with industries which are published in the regular articles: Rolling control system and strategy in 2014, Metal Matrix Composite electric wire in 2015 and Stamping of stainless sheet for small heat exchanger in 2016. Time: May 11th 4:30~5:45pm Location: GIFT Auditorium #101 Speaker: Prof. Jun Yanagimoto (The University of Tokyo) Host: Prof. F. Barlat
