Horror uses alarm, dread, and panic to examine people’s fears and nightmares

2 Horror stories are important because they examine our darker impulses, fears, and evil human behavior. Horror stories allow an outlet for people who love to SCREAM!

3 Horror literature has many famous examples.
Edgar Allen Poe wrote tales of horror about murder, revenge, and death. Even though his stories are 100 years old, they are still popular today.

4 Horror in Film Alfred Hitchcock directed horror films such as Rear Window, The Birds, Psycho and North by Northwest.

5 Horror has given us great characters.
Dracula Frankenstein

6 There are even horror children’s stories.

7 Horror will always be popular because people’s instincts of fight or flight have not changed for thousands of years.
