Brandeburgh-Prussia Prussia was forged by three supreme leaders of Frederick William ‘the Elector’, Frederick William I(son) and Frederick the Great of Prussia. The start of it was Frederick William when he broke up noble estates, organized his own cabinet(Great Directory), and building a strong army.( welcomed French protestant refugees)

RAISING AN ARMY Fredrick William raised an army by ordering permanent tax on estates. Then he expanded his boarders by inviting French Huguenot immigrants as new members to his army. Fredrick chose the nobles of old parliament as his local tax administrators. Nobles taxed their serfs as revenue of 80% that is used to support the Army.

Why was a strong military crucial to prussia?
Frederick William I built a strong army so he could unite Prussia and for any altercations in the future; when faced with war like the Sweden and Poland.

Fredrick II took advantage of the Prussian army by attacking Austria and conquering Silesia during the Silesian war. The Habsburgs hoped to develop a trade through the Port of Trieste on the northern coast of the Adriatic Sea to oversee their lost strength in the Holy Roman Empire. Also Charles VI reign of 1711 in securing a Pramaitic Santicon for her daughter Maria Theresa, but there was no economic help or army.

Clearly the Hohenzollerns were far more powerful in military status and economics than the Austrian Habsburg Empire. The Habsburg Empire had the title as holy roman emperor, but an alliance with Spanish decline, and the politcal states not cooperating with each other. Habsburg was very diverse in religion and customs; kings needed bargaining of nobles to maintain their order.
