The first thing you’ll need to do is to create an account via mendeley.com.

12

13 This is completely free to do and only takes a few seconds.
You’ll need a Mendeley account to log into the different versions of the software. Once you’ve created your account you’ll be prompted to download the appropriate version of Mendeley Desktop for your current machine.

14 Mendeley Desktop offers the complete Mendeley experience.
It allows you to build, maintain and order your personal library. It also allows you to access reading and writing functions.

15 When you first open Mendeley Desktop, you’ll need to log into your Mendeley account.
This ensures that any changes you make are being made to your own account and will be carried across when you log into different devices.

22 A Rainbow of annotations: Coloured highlighting is here!
How many colours? Eight different colours! Create a rainbow of annotations in your PDFs and sticky notes.

23 Though the bright burst of colour is the one you will likely notice first, we’ve also made other changes to your reference manager to make your annotation experience quicker and more intuitive.

24 Menus will appear at your finger tips as texts or annotations are selected, and we also added some organising capabilities to your Web Library, with the ability to Drag ‘n’ Drop documents and folders into other folders.

25 The features are live as of now, so if you’re not yet seeing them, be sure you restart your application while connected to the internet, and ensure you have the latest version of Mendeley (iOS 2.90, Desktop 1.16, Android 1.8.2)
