Not just qualification of elders
Not just formal public teaching
Not shouting & yelling
Not just polished speech or sermon

3. Apt To Teach Must be a “learner” Hebrews 5:12-14
Teacher helps someone else learn
If we haven’t learned we can’t teach others
Can learn AND teach
Some think they don’t need to learn
Some think they can’t teach until they know everything

4. Apt To Teach Must care about students Must care about the message
True of any work – doctor; school- teacher; etc.
Acts 20:31 – “with tears”
Must care about the message

It is truth from God
Appeal to the word; not opinion
Example of Jesus

5. Apt To Teach Life must harmonize with teaching
Everyone dislikes hypocrites
Some think all religious people are hypocrites

6. What Must I Do To Be Saved?
Hear the gospel (Romans 10:17)
Believe Jesus is Christ (Acts 8:37)
Repent of your sins (Acts 17:30)
Confess faith in Christ (Acts 8:37)
Baptized for remission of sins (Acts 2:38)
Faithful unto death (Revelation 2:10)
