1 The Biography of the Baby
John 1:1-5. Genesis 1:1

2 The other gospels Matthew 1:1 NASB 1977
1The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham. Matthew 1:18-19 NASB 1977  18Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows. When His mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child by the Holy Spirit. 19And Joseph her husband, being a righteous man, and not wanting to disgrace her, desired to put her away secretly. Matthew 2:1 NASB 1977  1Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem, saying, 2“Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east, and have come to worship Him.”

3 The other gospels Luke 1:1-5 NASB 1977
1Inasmuch as many have undertaken to compile an account of the things accomplished among us, 2just as those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and servants of the word have handed them down to us, 3it seemed fitting for me as well, having investigated everything carefully from the beginning, to write it out for you in consecutive order, most excellent Theophilus; 4so that you might know the exact truth about the things you have been taught.  5In the days of Herod, king of Judea, there was a certain priest named Zacharias, of the division of Abijah; and he had a wife from the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth.

4 Other Gospels Luke 2

5 Other gospels Mark 1 NASB 1977 1The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. 2As it is written in Isaiah the prophet, “BEHOLD, I SEND MY MESSENGER BEFORE YOUR FACE, WHO WILL PREPARE YOUR WAY; 3THE VOICE OF ONE CRYING IN THE WILDERNESS, ‘MAKE READY THE WAY OF THE LORD, MAKE HIS PATHS STRAIGHT.’” 4John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. 5And all the country of Judea was going out to him, and all the people of Jerusalem; and they were being baptized by him in the Jordan River, confessing their sins. 6And John was clothed with camel’s hair and wore a leather belt around his waist, and his diet was locusts and wild honey. 7And he was preaching, and saying, “After me One is coming who is mightier than I, and I am not fit to stoop down and untie the thong of His sandals. 8“I baptized you with water; but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”

6 Greek word “Logos”- Λόγος. Meaning: Word.
Well-known term in Greek philosophy in that day. John uses Λόγος in a sense that draws on the Hebrew meaning, too. Refers to Jesus as God’s unique communication to men and women, which He did in and through human flesh. But, the Λόγος always existed. Literally, in the beginning, Λόγος was. Verb in the imperfect tense, indicating continuing action in past time.

7 John 1:5 katelaben κατέλαβεν. overcame.
