Literacy
This week in literacy, we are continuing our focus on sequence of events and using transition words, and we are adding on author’s purpose. We are learning the 3 reasons why an author writes a book: To persuade, to inform, and to entertain. When you read with your child at home, give them the three options and see if they can discover why the author wrote that book.
We will not have fluency drill homework this week.

Science
Thank you so much for having your child bring in a “cool” rock. We are learning how and why rocks look different, and the students loved showing off and explaining about their rock. We did not get to our experiment like we had planned, so we will continue to work on discovering how water and wind cause slow changes to land this week!
