Canadian Self-Suffiency Project Earning supplements (monthly cash payments) for long-term welfare recipients who find full-time and come off income-assistance. Minnesota Family Investment Program Welfare recipient that found full-time employment received 20% cash supplement increase and continued to receive welfare benefits until income reached 140% of poverty line Portland Jobs Training Program Mandatory welfare-to-work program for single-parent residents receiving welfare assistance with children over age of one.

6 Implementation Collaborate with community organizations
Community college, Moore-Norman Technology Center, DHS office Each single mother will work with a case manager from Welfare department. Mothers will independently conduct job search Those who do not find job take math and reading test and will be interviewed about educational background, job skills, work history Participants are then placed into “fast track” or “enhanced track” Once Mother’s find employment they receive 20% cash assistance each month and full welfare benefits until income reaches 140% of poverty level.
